Welcome to the SWE Regional Health Bureau Digital Health Directorate

I warmly welcome you to the Digital Health Directorate. The Digital Health Directorate plays a vital role in strengthening the health system through   data-driven decision-making, and the effective use of digital technologies. 

To achieve the Digital Ethiopia goal set at the national level  ,the leadership and commitment are essential to advancing digital transformation, improving service delivery, and enhancing health outcomes across the region.

I look forward to working together to promote, strengthen health information systems, and support evidence-based planning and governance.

The Digital Health Directorate is responsible for leading and coordinating digital health initiatives that strengthen the regional health system. Under the leadership, the Directorate will continue to enhance efficient, equitable, and evidence-based health service delivery across the region.

 1.Digital Platforms & Tools Implementation

  • District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) — for regional health data collection and reporting.
    • Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS) for community-level digital health data capture.
    • These tools help standardize data collection and improve quality and accessibility of  health  information.
    • Promoting data-driven decision-making, and digital transformation in health services
    • Implementation and support of national digital platforms such as DHIS2, eCHIS, EMR and other eHealth solutions.

        2. Capacity Building & Governance

Supporting digital health governance and capacity building training staff and strengthening governance structures for sustainable implementation.

 3. Regional Coordination and Learning.

  • Operating the Digital Health Implementation integrating with CPD Centers to drive learning, , coordination across the Regional digital health ecosystem.
  • Creating linkages with facility ,woreda  about IR Model Path and digital health communities to exchange best practices

  • Coordination with non-governmental organizations working on digital health 

     Digital Infrastructure Support

  • Supporting ongoing digital infrastructure needs in collaboration with the Minister of Health.
