We are implementing innovative HIV case finding approaches at health facilities and community levels targeting key and priority populations. STIs screening are integrated with HIV testing services using a syndromic approach with the purpose of expanding access to effective treatment. Currently, a comprehensive Prevention of Mother to child transmission of HIV, syphilis and Viral hepatitis (PMTCT) services is employed at all health facilities across the region.
Quality Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services are tailored to peoples living with HIV (PLHIV) at health facilities providing ART, often using person centred models to improve access and outcomes in the region. ART is recommended for everyone who has HIV with the aim of reducing risk of HIV transmission.
Management of co-infections and comorbidities (Tuberculosis, Cervical cancer, Cryptococcal infection, Mental Health) is also an integral part of the care and treatment services. In collaboration with partners and other stakeholders we have registered magnificence improvements in HIV response over the past several years.
